CHALLENGE
Trial-cultivated roses are often discarded if not selected for registration and mass production, despite their beauty. As a result, truly one-of-a-kind flowers rarely reach the market. The challenge was to reframe these unregistered roses as singular objects worth preserving.
SOLUTION
We created UNIQUE FLOWER, positioning each bloom as “the only rose of its kind in the world.” By shifting the narrative from product to rarity, each flower becomes something to experience, not replace. Every rose is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and the opportunity to be named by its owner, creating a personal connection. The project launched via crowdfunding and later debuted at Isetan Shinjuku’s Tanseikai, a VIP-exclusive event.
DESIGN PROCESS
The identity and packaging were designed as a single, cohesive system. A custom structure functions as both a delivery box and carry bag, securely housing the flower and its vase. All product and care information is integrated into the packaging itself, eliminating the need for additional materials. The result is a considered balance of function, sustainability, and brand expression.
